The polishing machinery at Shortt Stainless Steel is second to none. Offering the highest operational efficiency, we can polish all types
of stainless products to a specific finish as required by the customer. A hand-polishing facility is also available.
Sheets
Our automated 1,600mm wide machine comes complete with laminating unit. It is used for polishing Cold Rolled (2B) sheets of
any thickness.
Plates
Our automated 2,000mm wide machine is used predominantly for polishing Hot Rolled (HR) plate of any thickness.
Pipes
We can polish Tubes, Pipes and Round Bars; diameters ranging from 12mm to 354mm. Any finish up to mirror polish.
Box section, flat bars and angles
Our machine can polish flat bars or box section up to 200mm wide x 200mm high. It can polish two faces
at the same time, thereby significantly reducing heat distortion. Any finish up to mirror polish. Angles can be polished inside and out.
Profiled material
We can polish any piece of steel after it has been profiled, whether by Laser, Waterjet or Plasma.
